Plain-English version of how this works. If something here is unclear, write to us.
1. What this is
When you buy a product from Pixel Assets Lab, you get a licence to use its files (“the Assets”) under the tier you picked at checkout: Personal, Commercial or Extended. We keep ownership of the Assets. You get the rights below, and we keep every right we haven’t given you.
The licence is perpetual, worldwide and non-exclusive. You can’t transfer it, except together with your whole business or as agreed in writing with us. We can end it only if you break it (section 7).
2. The three tiers
| Personal | Commercial | Extended | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who | 1 individual | 1 licensee (a freelancer or one company), up to 5 named team members | 1 licensee, up to 25 named team members |
| What you can make | Non-commercial projects: learning, portfolio, hobby, a personal site | Everything in Personal, plus client work and your own business sites, apps and internal tools, including free end products | Everything in Commercial, plus products and services sold to end users: a paid SaaS, an app with paid plans, a theme or template product that contains the Assets as part of it |
| How many projects | Unlimited, no revenue | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Credit to us | Not required | Not required | Not required |
Rules that apply to the table:
- “Named team members” means people you’ve decided can access the files for this licence. Need more than the table gives you? Write to us.
- Under Extended, the Assets must be part of the finished product. You can’t offer them to your own customers as a separate kit, download or pack.
- A bundle gives you each item in it under the tier you picked for the bundle.
- Need a bigger tier later? Pay the difference. Write to us with your order number.
- Credit is not required unless a product page says it is.
3. Banned at every tier
No tier lets you:
- Resell, redistribute, share or sublicense the Assets or parts of them, as they are or modified, free or paid. This includes hosting them for download.
- Make them extractable. An end product can’t let a third party pull out the Assets in an editable or reusable form. Examples: a public GitHub repository, a Figma Community file, a CodePen collection, an unlocked template.
- Upload them to marketplaces or stock sites, such as ThemeForest/Envato, Creative Market, Etsy, Gumroad, Framer, Webflow or Figma marketplaces, UI8, Shutterstock, Adobe Stock or similar. This includes “remixed” or “inspired” versions that stay close to the originals.
- Use them as a trademark or logo. Don’t register illustrations or icons, or use them as a logo, wordmark or brand mark. Don’t claim exclusive rights over them.
- Train AI or machine-learning models with them, including fine-tuning, evaluating or building datasets, and scraping your deliverables for that purpose.
- Misrepresent them. Don’t claim you made the unmodified Assets, and don’t suggest we endorse you.
- Use them unlawfully or for defamatory, hateful, adult or deceptive content, or in a way that suggests a person depicted endorses something.
- Dodge the tiers. Personal can’t be used for client or commercial work.
- Release them under an open-source licence.
4. Third-party parts
Some files include third-party components, such as Tailwind CSS (MIT licence) or open-licence (OFL) fonts. They keep their own licences, which are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt in each ZIP and on the product page. Fonts are open-licence only. Don’t resell or redistribute fonts on their own.
5. AI-assisted illustrations
Some raster illustrations are created with AI image-generation tools and edited by us. We license them to you to the extent we have rights. We do not warrant that every element is protected by copyright, and we do not promise exclusivity. Vector (SVG) illustrations marked as drawn by us in the product are drawn by us. This is labelled on the product page and in the README.
6. Free pack licence
The Free Starter Pack comes with its own, simpler licence:
- You can use the files in your own finished projects, personal or commercial.
- No resale, sharing, redistribution, repackaging, marketplace uploads or AI training (section 3 applies).
- It’s provided as it is, with no support or warranty, and we may update or withdraw it at any time.
- No credit required.
The same text is in the ZIP.
7. Ending the licence
If you break this licence, it can end. Then you stop using the Assets in new work and delete them from future deliverables. Finished work you’ve already delivered is dealt with case by case; we’ll talk to you first.
8. Warranty and liability
The warranty and liability limits in the Terms of sale apply to this licence too. Your statutory consumer rights aren’t affected.
9. Which tier fits? Examples
- Personal: a side project, a portfolio piece, a personal site. Nothing earns money.
- Commercial: a client’s admin panel, your company’s marketing site, your own free internal tool.
- Extended: a paid SaaS, an app with paid plans, a theme that you sell with our files built in.
Short version with a picker: Licences.
